A favorite reading assignment in American schools is “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”. I remember
having to read it during my freshman year of high school and thinking of the depth the book held. Judging by the title alone, I would not have known it was about mental illnesses since the “Cuckoo’s Nest” threw me off. However, cuckoo’s nest is actually one of the many words used for psychiatric hospitals. Here is some of the more common slang you will hear for “psychiatric hospital.”
